Denver Colorado, The Land of Scenery, Food, Breweries & Festivals

My wife and I had some Real Estate to business to take care of in the Denver area … we also have very good friends who live in Loveland that we visit. So, we extended our July 4th weekend and took off to the land of natural beauty and its cultural richness it has to offer.

The metro Denver area has always been one of my favorite places to enjoy a long weekend. Along with its majestic beauty, it has so much to offer. If you plan to visit the Denver area, here’s a few suggestions:

Downtown Denver: Start at the historic Union Station, then explore the nearby LoDo (Lower Downtown) district for shops, restaurants, and nightlife.

Denver Art Museum: A great place to appreciate art and architecture. The museum's unique design makes it a sight to see.

City Park: Perfect for a scenic drive, this park offers stunning views of the Rockies and a beautiful lake.

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre: Just a short drive from the city, this iconic venue is set in stunning red rock formations. Even if you don’t catch a concert, the views and hiking trails are worth the trip.

Denver is also renowned for its vibrant craft beer scene. Here are some favorites you can check out:

Wynkoop Brewing Company: One of Denver’s first craft breweries, located in the LoDo district. They offer a variety of house-brewed beers and a fun pub atmosphere.

River North Brewery: Specializing in Belgian-style beers, this brewery offers a unique twist on traditional styles and is worth a visit for their creative brews.

Denver has a thriving food scene that reflects its diverse culture and access to fresh ingredients. Here are some highlights that make it a foodie town:

International Flavors: From authentic Mexican cuisine to Ethiopian and Asian fusion, Denver's culinary landscape is rich with global influences. Check out Tamayo for upscale Mexican or Sushi Den for fresh sushi.

Food Halls:

Avanti Food & Beverage: A unique food hall featuring a rotating lineup of restaurants, offering everything from gourmet tacos to wood-fired pizzas.

The Source: Another great food hall with a mix of eateries, artisan shops, and breweries, perfect for sampling different cuisines.

Brunch Scene:

Denver is famous for its brunch spots. Don’t miss places like Snooze, an A.M. Eatery for inventive breakfast dishes or Denver Biscuit Company for their massive biscuit sandwiches.

Denver also plays host to several Food Festivals throughout the year. Denver hosts several food festivals throughout the year, celebrating everything from tacos to craft beer. Keep an eye out for events like the Denver Food + Wine Festival.

With its combination of innovative chefs, diverse cuisines, and a strong emphasis on local ingredients, Denver is a must-visit for food lovers!

When traveling to Denver here’s a few tips to remember:

Traffic: Denver can have heavy traffic, especially during rush hours, so plan accordingly.

Parking: Look for parking garages downtown; street parking can be tricky.

Altitude: Denver is at a high elevation, so stay hydrated and take it easy if you're not used to it.
