Here’s another great Travel Memory trip … it was a long vacation that included some great sites in Greece. Along with Athens, we went to Delphi, Santorini and the island of Crete.

Acropolis & Parthenon

Just below the Acropolis, this museum houses incredible artifacts from ancient sites, including sculptures and everyday items from the past.
Plaka District
Wander through the charming streets of Plaka, an old neighborhood with narrow cobblestone streets, traditional Greek houses, shops, and tavernas.
Temple of Olympian Zeus
One of the largest temples in Ancient Greece, its impressive ruins still evoke the grandeur of the ancient world.
Ancient Agora
The heart of ancient Athenian life, where philosophers like Socrates and Plato would gather. You’ll find the Temple of Hephaestus and the Stoa of Attalos here.
Syntagma Square & the Changing of the Guard
Watch the ceremonial changing of the guard at the Greek Parliament building, a symbol of Athens' rich history.
Mount Lycabettus
For breathtaking panoramic views of the city, take a funicular or hike up to the top of this hill. You can see the Acropolis from a different angle and catch a glimpse of the Aegean Sea.
National Archaeological Museum
This museum is home to an extensive collection of Greek antiquities, from statues to pottery, showcasing the art and history of ancient Greece.
Monastiraki Flea Market
A bustling market filled with antiques, jewelry, clothing, and souvenirs. It is a great place to find unique gifts and immerse yourself in local culture.
Roman Agora & Tower of the Winds
This area was used as a marketplace in Roman times, and the Tower of the Winds, an ancient clock tower, still stands as a symbol of the city's rich past.
Delphi is one of Greece's most famous archaeological sites, steeped in ancient history and mythology. Here are the must-see highlights when visiting Delphi:
The Temple of Apollo
This is the main attraction at Delphi, where the famous Oracle of Delphi resided. The temple was dedicated to the god Apollo, and it is here that the oracle, Pythia, would deliver prophecies. The ruins are impressive, and you can still see the foundations and remnants of the once-majestic structure.
The Ancient Theatre
Located just below the Temple of Apollo, this theatre once hosted dramatic performances and musical events. It offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, making it a great spot for photos.
The Ancient Stadium
Situated further up the hill from the Temple of Apollo, this is where the Pythian Games, a precursor to the Olympic Games, were held. The stadium is quite well preserved, and you can imagine how the athletes would have competed here.
The Archaeological Museum of Delphi
This museum houses many of the incredible artifacts uncovered at the site, including the famous Charioteer of Delphi, an ancient bronze statue that dates back to around 470 BC, and various other sculptures, inscriptions, and offerings to Apollo.
The Tholos of Delphi (Temple of Athena Pronaia)
Located outside the main archaeological site, the Tholos is a circular temple with six preserved columns. It is one of the most photographed spots in Delphi, offering a mystical atmosphere and beautiful views.
The Sacred Way
This ancient path leads from the entrance of the archaeological site up to the Temple of Apollo. Along the way, you can spot the remains of various votive monuments, statues, and inscriptions left by pilgrims who came to consult the oracle.
The Castalian Spring
In ancient times, pilgrims would purify themselves at this spring before entering the temple to consult the oracle. It's a beautiful spot, surrounded by lush greenery, and a peaceful place to visit.
The Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia
A little outside the main archaeological site, this sanctuary includes the famous Tholos (a round temple) and other structures dedicated to the goddess Athena.
Mount Parnassus
For nature lovers, hiking up Mount Parnassus is a must. The mountain offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape, and it’s also a great spot for outdoor activities like hiking, skiing (in winter), and exploring the area’s natural beauty.
Delphi Village
After visiting the archaeological sites, take time to explore the village of Delphi itself. It has a cozy, traditional Greek atmosphere with charming cafes, tavernas, and shops. You can enjoy the local cuisine and find some beautiful souvenirs.

Santorini is a stunning island known for its dramatic landscapes, whitewashed buildings, and crystal-clear waters. Here are some must-see attractions and experiences during your vacation in Santorini:
Oia Village
